Haymans Landscapes were appointed to redesign the driveway and front garden. Paul and his team took on our thoughts and came up with a suitable design for the works. They took up the existing driveway, removed all debris, recovered the drive, extended the area to include a new lawn, low level brick wall and a new front gate. The team were very helpful, kept us informed every day of what was to be done, punctual, and kept to the cost. Would definitely use them again.

New gravel driveway and replacement fence panels
Haymans Landscapes replaced and extended our gravel driveway. They also renewed some fencing in our garden. Quote was competitive and they were able to fit us in before Christmas which was great. The guys turned up on time and worked until the light faded on the days they worked. Work was completed quickly and tidily. Good communication before and during the work. Overall very happy.

Paul and his team replaced an old cracked concrete path with new brick pavers. The guys arrived on time, kept me informed, worked really hard without stopping for any breaks and cleared up very well when they were finished. I’m very happy with the new path and will use them again in the future.

New driveway and parking area.
Having previously used Haymans Landscapes for a new patio, I chose them again to completely replace my garage drive and add a large parking area in front of my house. It was all in block paving and was a relatively large area. Amazingly they managed to do the job in less than four days and the end result was excellently done.

Driveway Construction

Whether you’re planning a new paved driveway or simply want to understand the process, we have put together an in-depth look at each crucial step involved.

The journey begins with excavation, where we dig out the area to the correct depth, dispose of the excess soil, and prepare the site with necessary drainage. Following this, we lay a sturdy concrete foundation around the perimeter to ensure edge restraint.

Next, we install a geotextile membrane on the soil base. This layer prevents the sub-base from mixing with underlying layers and helps inhibit weed growth. On top of this, a solid hardcore sub-base is laid to provide a stable foundation for the driveway.

We then spread, level, and compact a layer of sand and screed to create a smooth and accurate surface. Paving blocks are arranged according to your chosen color and pattern, with final adjustments made by cutting the blocks to size and filling in the joints.

The process concludes with jointing and compaction. Kiln-dried sand is brushed into the joints and compacted to secure the blocks in place. Once excess sand is swept off, your new driveway is complete and ready for use.
